Workshop Projects Organization was established in the year 2002 with the objective of setting up world class Production Units and Workshops for Indian Railways. Establishing world-class production units/workshops equipped with state-of -the art technology in a time bound manner is a challenge in itself which requires integrated approach.
In a very short span of time, Workshop Projects Organization has emerged as one of the vibrant units in the Indian Railways. We have established an excellent reputation for our services to the IR by adopting holistic approach to Project Management and I am glad that Workshop Projects Organization has handed over Carriage Repair Workshop Harnaut to ECR. Rail wheel plant/Bela as also started its production. Successful execution of these two projects has earned laurels to our organization. Five more projects namely, Wagon Repair Workshop, Badnera (Maharshtra), Carriage Midlife Rehabilitation Workshop, Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh), Matunga Workshop– Facilities for augmentation of bogie POH capacity and other allied works, Central Railway, Bhagalpur- Augmentation of coaching infrastructure facilities for LHB coaches/BGP/Eastern Railway and Gorakhpur- Facilities for periodic overhauling maintenance of LHB coaches/GKP/North Eastern Railway are currently with Workshop Projects Organisation.
We all know that every good government organization flourishes on public participation and awareness. For good reasons, different strata of society look for basic information about what the organization is, what is it meant for, its achievements, and the direction in which it is moving. I hope that this Website would serve this purpose to a great extent.
I am sure that with the patronage of Railway Board, and with the dedication of our projects team, we will come up to the expectations of our valued customers. My entire team and I will always be at the service of IR, and the people of this great nation.
